Habitat: It grows heavenly on Mountains of Western China.
Description: Wolfberry species are deciduous woody perennial
plants, growing 1-3 m high. These species produce a bright red,
ellipsoid berry 1-2 cm long, each containing 10-30 tiny yellow seeds
that are compressed with a curved embryo.
Uses: The plant is mostly used to treat kidney, liver, eye, and
skin problems; diabetes, tuberculosis, anxiety, and insomnia, lower
blood pressure and cholesterol levels. All in all, Goji fruits can
effectively improve the state of health, strengthen the immune system,
and increase the longevity and vitality. Dried wolfberry is an
ingredient often used in Chinese soups.
