Habitat: It is unknown when Oats were first introduced into
Britain.
Description: Oats are an erect, annual grass, with elongated
flat rough leaves. The seeds are golden in color and spindle-shaped.
Uses: It is used to treat depression, nervous exhaustion,
shingles, herpes, menopausal symptoms and debility following illness.
The stalks (oat straw) are used as an herbal tea and are used to fight
osteoporosis, to build bones and for pain relief.
