Description: The stems are woody at the base, diffuse, much
branched. The leaves are oblong, linear and acute, or the lower ones
spatulate or wedge-shaped and obtuse.
Uses: Another name for Winter Savory is Bean Herb. The flavor
greatly enhances bean and lentil dishes and also assists with digestion
of these foods and aids in the reduction of flatulence. The peppery
taste means that it can be used in almost any dish as a substitute for
pepper and is a great addition to stuffing.
